Ongoing support for 10th and 11th graders
Opportunity 1st offers the “Open to Talk” (OTT) program, providing continuous support to 10th and 11th graders. This ongoing, open-enrollment initiative allows students to join at any time, offering tailored guidance and resources to meet their individual needs. These conversations and group activities create a safe and engaging environment for students; helping them build relationships, develop self-awareness, foster creativity, build skills, and promote self-discovery while giving each young person the freedom to express themselves and prepare for the future.
Real Talk Circles: Purpose: Create a safe space where students discuss real-world topics like mental health, relationships, social media, and future goals.
Vision Board Workshop: Purpose: Help students visualize their goals and dreams by creating a physical or digital collage.
Role-Play Realities: Purpose: Teach problem-solving and empathy by acting out common scenarios.
Guided Peer Coaching: Purpose: Develop communication and listening skills by pairing students to support each other’s personal goals.
What If? Cards: Purpose: Encourage open conversation and critical thinking.
Strengths and Struggles: Purpose: Build confidence by identifying strengths and recognizing areas of growth.
Goal Mapping Together: Purpose: Teach planning and accountability.
Peer Discussion Panels: Purpose: Let students take the lead by sharing experiences on topics they care about.
Confidence Builders: Compliment Chain: Purpose: Build a positive self-image and foster a supportive environment.
Future Storytelling: Purpose: Encourage students to visualize their future selves and consider paths to achieve their dreams
